Blue Marsh Lake
With 35 miles of vast shoreline, those visiting Blue Marsh Lake, in Leesport, PA will find ease in finding the perfect location for their year-round recreation facility. This stream fed lake has activities for everyone, including swimming, water skiing, scuba diving, boating, ice fishing and ice-skating. This recreational spot serves multiple purposes, flood control, water supply and water quality. Blue Marsh Lake is maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia Division.
The park is open daily at 8 am, except for Christmas. Closing times vary depending upon the season. Visitors can make use of the bathhouse, pay phones, volleyball courts, picnic areas with grills, multiple boat docks and launches, wildlife observation areas, hiking and walking trails. Although there are no camping facilities on the grounds there are several within 10 miles.
A variety of educational programs are run through out the course of the year. Learn about boating safety or discover the lives of the Lenape Indians that were the early inhabitants of the area. Each car entering the park is charged $3 and $1 for each person entering the park on foot. Annual passes are available for purchase as well as discounts available for select groups.
